20 years ago today, Feb 11th (my birthday), a malignant tumor was removed from my right forearm.
Diagnosis: Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Treatment: Chemotherapy and radiation for one full year.
Experience: Priceless
Since then, every year has served as a reminder for me. A reminder that even though cancer left my body, it will always be a part of my life.
Today reminds me to keep thriving, keep smiling and to keep moving forward past any speed bumps that may come along the way.
I believe that it was brought into my life to teach me and my loved ones many lessons. And because of that, I am grateful for my experience with cancer. I embrace it. I honor it. I adore it.
It has been said many times that without the lows, there would be no highs. The lower you go, the higher you can go. I believe that. I really believe that. So let's see how high we can all go. I believe. I hope you do to.
